Portable appliance testing known as PAT is testing of every appliance that has a BS1363 standard 13amp plugtop. Business premises and places of public staff usage ie shops, charity premises, offices and places of work all need to have appliances tested at a maximum 12months period intervals.
An employer has to PAT applainces under the following legal requirments:
- Health and Saftey Work Act 1974
- The Managment of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- The Provision of Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- The Electricity at Work Regualtions 1989
Out PAT testing services is a sophisticated test of each appliance and each applaince tested inspected and all results recorded. All passed appliances are stickered with a test date, and retest date for the user to see when renewal is due.
We also issue a full list of all appliances tested and inspected and all results. A certificate is issued for display to show appliances have been tested and inspected and all have passed and are safe and fit for use.
Most business insurances wil require properties to have these certificates so as standard we also keep certificates and records on our dedicated certificate server (backed up and hard copies too) this encase for example in worse case documentation is lost or destroyed and insuarance purposes wish a copy of these certificates.
We also repair/replace plugtop that fail PAT free of charge. Our PAT testing is not an expensive exercise and a cheap way for employer to compy with above legal requirments.
We do PAT testing for many of our clients and many companies that have more than one office or store. We will test for our clients that only have a few appliances to clients that have thousands of appliances.
